The NGO La P'tite Episol was born in May 2019, its headquarters is located in Vernouillet (Yvelines). Two projects have been created: a social and solidarity grocery store and a permaculture garden. The objective is to offer food and non-food products at reduced prices and give a helping hand to people in difficulty. La P'tite Episol offers quality fruits and vegetables, grown by local organic producers and by volunteers in its eco-responsible garden. But it is also a network of sharing, solidarity, learning and awareness. It acts against food waste and for a sustainable food.
La P’tite Episol
Belles Gamelles
Born in Toulouse in March 2020 at the beginning of Covid, the NGO Belles Gamelles is an initiative of 35 restaurant owners whose mission is to help the most disadvantaged people by preparing balanced, quality meals with fresh products from the fight against food waste. With its own kitchen/laboratory in the heart of the Marché d'Intérêt National (MIN), Belles Gamelles recovers unsold products from the market (2 to 5 tons per week) and prepares, with the help of its 400 volunteers, 50,000 meals per year (i.e. 100,000 meals distributed since the creation of the association) which are then distributed by a network of partner associations, located throughout the city.
La Cantina
La Cantina is an association created in December 2020 in Montpellier around sustainable food. It buys unsold products from organic and local market gardeners to cook dietetic menus accessible to all via a triple pricing system. Since September 2021, 100 kg of unsold products are recovered each week for 200 meals in ephemeral canteens in different associations. The association proposes a balanced and vegetarian cuisine, which allows us to raise awareness of the food transition. The activity is completed with anti-gaspi workshops, food balance, health and nutrition, in a friendly and collaborative way.
Papillons Blancs en Champagne
Born in 2018, Papillons Blancs en Champagne defends the rights and quality of life of people with disabilities. The NGO helps 1,000 people with intellectual disabilities, autism and multiple disabilities in the Reims and Epernay areas in terms of schooling, health, employment and housing. Its action is based on the militancy of volunteer parents and families as well as the management of 28 medical and social establishments and services entrusted by the Regional Health Agency and the Departmental Council of the Marne. It uses unused soccer pitches in the Stade de Reims training center to grow vegetables. The vegetables grown by disabled workers from the ESAT Ateliers de la Forêt will be used to supply the Stade de Reims' kitchens in a short circuit and food quality approach.
La Ferme des Mille Bras
In 2020, La Ferme des Mille Bras launched an experimental participatory farm in Bouguenais. It offers residents the opportunity to take ownership of agricultural and food issues and to actively participate in the experimentation of new economically and ecologically viable production models. Based on this experience, the association is now carrying out a participatory market gardening project on a larger scale in St-Aignan Grandlieu. This project is supported by the Metropolis of Nantes within the framework of the Territorial Food Plan. The association is based on the idea that once citizens have put their hands on the land, they will be able to develop their own production activities and will be more aware of the benefits of healthy food produced and distributed locally.
Les Jeunes Pousses
Created in 2018, Les Jeunes Pousses is an association based in Avignon which aims to develop and promote urban agriculture. It has various fields of activity that revolve around the same desire: to reintegrate nature into the city. The association built various projects such as the creation of the Tipi, the first urban farm in Avignon, which will be inaugurated in September 2020, the creation of Comme des Champignons, the first urban mushroom farm in Avignon, and the local coordination of the event "Les 48H de l'agriculture urbaine". Urban agriculture is used as a generator of social links, as a means of raising awareness of ecology and as a tool for reconnecting the citizens to the world of agriculture.
Les Robin.e.s des Bennes
Since 2019, Les Robin.e.s des Bennes fight against waste and precariousness in Picardy. Today, it gathered more than 5,500 citizens around a 100% free concept. Its actions are based on three main themes: "Food" with the distribution of unsold goods thanks to the Shared Fridge and Disco Soup; "Clothing" with the organization of 100% recuperated second-hand clothes shops; and finally "Save Who Grows" for plants, trees and shrubs. The objective is to prevent food, objects or clothing that can still be consumed from becoming waste, while giving access to food and materials free of charge through meeting places and solidarity.
Boc’ A Récup’
Boc’ A Récup’ was created in 2020 with the mission of creating a link between farmers and the population, to open spaces for exchanges on agriculture and sustainable food, to limit food waste and to reappropriate know-how such as jarring. To do this, the association offers various games, workshops and awareness-raising events to a diverse public and in connection with schools, associations, small farms or local authorities. It uses La Boc' à Roulotte, a travelling vehicle equipped with support material for awareness-raising activities to be able to move closer to the territories and structures.
Les Carrioles Vertes
Les Carrioles vertes was born in March 2019 with the major objective of building local circular economy loops around biowaste, market gardening and food. It is the will to lead as many people as possible towards the proximity management of bio-waste for a valorization in a quality compost. On its two sites, the association produces about 30 tons of compost, usable in organic agriculture, sold to local market gardeners and individuals. It shares this know-how through activities and training certified by the National Citizen Compost Network. It also assists structures wishing to set up shared or institutional composting.
Les Râteleurs
Born in 2015 in Sainte-Foy-la-Grande, Les Râteleurs shares, helps and facilitates the appropriation of knowledge, operating methods and processing equipment for a daily food that is supportive and nourishing for the inhabitants of the Pays foyen, the most vulnerable in particular. This access to the right of food sovereignty of the territory is done by developing economic, social and cultural activities around a local, quality and economically accessible food. Food cooking, gleaning, self-production of food through the garden, and conservation are examples.
