The Carrefour Foundation supports Habitat et Humanisme Rhône on several levels. Its support aims to diversify the supply sources of Escales Solidaires in order to increase the proportion of products from organic farming. In addition, it will help develop the knowledge and skills of the kitchen teams on the issues of cooking and sustainable food. Finally, it also focuses on developing the knowledge of "passengers" on the links between health and food. The aim is to make it easier for them to accept the new menus prepared by the kitchen teams.
The Escales Solidaires are intended to be an inclusive place and also offer access to a number of solidarity workshops including a variety of activities focusing on employment, culture, beauty care, health prevention, manual activities, etc. Each participant is free to sign up on the pre-established schedules each quarter.
500 people attended the Escales Solidaires in 2021. They can count on the support and guidance of 234 volunteers who are invested and determined in their daily mission.
At present, there are no less than seven Escales in the city of Lyon and its metropolitan area, but Habitat et Humanisme Rhône does not intend to stop there and plans to open ten Escales Solidaires by 2025.
