According to the FAO, in 2050, 70% of the world’s population will live in cities. Although urban agriculture may not enable all city-dwellers to be self-sufficient, it is still a great way for them to reconnect with the land. The practice gives residents access to high quality local produce and makes consumer habits more sustainable. It also sows the seed for the development of a circular economy and societal innovations.
In order to better share knowledge regarding this new method of agriculture, Les Cols Verts has created and developed a free online course that is open to everyone, otherwise known as a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC).
